I'm All Grown Up

That's right... I graduated! It's so crazy to think that it's already over! Graduation went amazingly well; it was held on May 22nd in the Parowan High School Auditorium and it was so much fun! I know fun isn't typically the word that would come to mind when you think about the graduation ceremony, but my graduation experience really was! It was great to be so involved in the program. I got to sing two solos and do a choral reading with one of my best friends. It was so great being able to see our class work together so well, although it was most likely the last time we'll all be together with the same objective in mind. But I know that I'll never forget it.
Only two days after graduating, I packed up my stuff and moved in with my dad and step-mom, Danielle, down here in Hurricane. It was a little hard to adjust at first, and I'll admit I was a bit homesick, but I'm loving it down here. I've spent the past three weeks trying to find a job so that I can eventually buy myself a car so I can actually make it to school every day this fall. But so far I've had no luck. I've been able to make a little bit of money though, by going to Biolife Plasma Services and donating my blood plasma twice a week. It's not hard to do, and I get paid for laying on a chair for an hour listening to music. :D Pretty easy money, I'd say.

Hard Stuff

Last week Taylor and I broke up. First of all, I want everyone to know that it was a mutual decision, we decided being together wasn't very smart for us right now. I want him to be able to focus on his mission, and I want to focus on my life- school, family, friends, and all the crazy stuff that's involved with moving out and starting college. We were dating a year, two months, and ten days. I still love Taylor, and nothing will ever change that. But we're not right for each other right now. The past week has been a bit hard, not talking to him or texting him or anything. But I've had my family, friends, school, and work to help keep my mind off things. This will get easier with time, I hope. But for now I'm doing the best I can to be myself. :D

Cheer is Over!

The cheer year is over, and as much as I loved being a cheerleader, I'm so glad it's finally over! Now I can focus more on the other parts of my life: school, work... and friends! It's so great to be able to actually hang out with someone other than a cheerleader!
School is going really great, but I can't wait for it to be over! haha Only three more months and then I get chucked out into the big bad world! I'm feeling a mixture of excitement and horror. It's scary being an adult! Oh right! That reminds me! I'm legally an adult as of February 10, 2009 :D Some parts are okay, but others are just a pain in the butt! I had to apply for medical insurance... which was a horrible hassle!
I'm going to attend Dixie State College in the fall, and I'm really excited about it! Not only do I have so much of my family living down south, my best friend of thirteen years, Natalie, lives in St. George. It's going to be great to get to see my family more often and meet new people and try new things! I'm going to live with my dad while I'm going to school, at least for a while. I'm not sure if I'll end up living on my own by the time I'm done with school or not. haha.
But for now I'm focusing on my school work, keeping my grades as high as I can, and making sure I didn't lose complete touch with the social world outside of cheer! :D

Rough Stuff

Well, this last little while has been rough. My boyfriend, Taylor, moved in October to Idaho, and I only get to see him once a month, if that. Our one year anniversary is next friday, and I wish I could see him. But I'll be in Ogden at Honor Band, and he'll be in Idaho, working. I've just been missing him a lot lately, it's hard to be so far away from him. But I love him so much, and I won't let anything come between us. I wish he would leave on his mission so he would come back sooner! But anyways, I know that he loves me, and he can't wait to come home from his mission, ready to make other, more important "decisions". :] Anyways, it's looking like he might not even get to come down around Christmas time, which makes me really sad. For our anniversary I made him a photo album with all the pictures we took together this past year. I really hope he likes it!

Anyway, in other areas of my life...

I applied for music sterling scholar at my school and didn't get it. But that's okay, because the kid who did get it deserves it, probably more than I do. I'm happy for him, and I told him so. I'm also glad I didn't get it because that's just one more thing I would have to add to my busy schedule.

I'm so excited for Christmas! I can't wait to go to my Dad's and spend time with him and Danielle. I miss them so much, I wish I could go down and visit more often. But I only have to wait a few more months, because I've decided that once I graduate I'm going to attend Dixie State College, and live at my Dad's house, at least for my freshman year. Mom and Dad will have so much of me they'll probably get sick of me! ha ha :] I'm so excited to move in with them, it's going to be so much fun living in Hurricane, close to my friend Natalie who I don't get to see much. I miss her, and I can't wait to have classes with her!

Crazy For You!

Okay, so lately my life has been so insane! I've practically been living at the school because of the musical. This year we did Crazy For You, and I played the part of Patsy, the ditzy dance director. It was so much fun acting like a blonde! But Monday was the last performance, and I've actually been home for more than two hours in a row. It's nice, but I miss it already. I've been in the play every year, and I'm sad that this was my last one.

Now I get to keep busy with cheering at basketball and wrestling until February. This is my first (and last) year as a Parowan High School cheerleader. It's a lot of fun, but really stressful too. Twenty girls spending at least three days of the week together are bound to create drama. I just do my best to stay away from it though, I can't stand girl drama.

Today Taylor (my boyfriend) went back home to idaho. This was the first time I've seen him in a month. Taylor used to live only twenty minutes away, but his dad got a job teaching at BYU Idaho, so their whole family moved up there a few months ago. It's been hard being so far away from him, but it's alright because I know we'll make it through anything thrown at us. We're like best friends. We've been together for eleven months, and only had one rough spot, which was mostly my fault, I tend to freak out and jump to conclusions when there's nothing to worry about. But I've been doing better lately. I guess it's good that he moved, because being away from him is helping prepare me for when he leaves on his mission in May. I'm planning on waiting for him, despite other people telling me I won't make it the two years he's gone.

Today I'm going to St. George to spend Thanksgiving weekend with my Dad, and my step-mom. My dad's name is Scott Jones and he has his own construction business in St. George. He's so awesome, I'm so lucky to have him for a Dad. My step-mom's name is Danielle. Only I don't usually refer to her as my step-mom, she's one of my best friends in the whole world. I love her so much, and my dad, the rest of my siblings, and I are so lucky to have her in our lives.

Also, today my Grandpa and Grandma Berry are coming home from their mission in Salt Lake. It's so crazy that they're coming home already, it doesn't seem like it's been two years! Their homecoming is on sunday, and for part of the program I'm singing a solo. I'm kinda nervous, cuz I just picked out the song yesterday, but I think I'll be able to pull it together in time. :] I'm excited for them to come home, I've missed them since they've been gone. The only bad thing, is that while they were gone my parents were staying in their house and taking care of it. But now that they're coming home, my parents have had to look for a new place to stay. I know it's been really hard for them because the market is so bad, and I heard Danielle say they couldn't find a place that would allow pets, and we have a huge yellow lab named Coda, that we just couldn't bear to let go. But I'm pretty sure that they've found a place, I'm so excited to see it! Only, I'm afraid that I'll get lost trying to find it... ha ha I'm not very good when it comes to directions. :]
